BENEFITS: Great Plains Bentonite provides strong detoxification in the digestive tract, with the ability to bind with unwanted substances by adsorbent action. Great Plains Bentonite is specially formulated to provide the maximum benefits of bentonite. Bentonites mechanism of action is physical, due to its colloidal structure and charged particles of sodium, calcium, magnesium and potassium ions, which allow it to bind with unwanted substances in the stomach, small intestine and colon. It is not digested, nor is it absorbed into the bloodstream. Since unwanted substances are bound to the bentonite, they are excreted from the body when the bentonite is eliminated through bowel movements.

Great Plains Bentonite is made with the most powerful detoxifying bentonite, known technically as montmorillonite. It is a natural clay mineral of volcanic origin, created from volcanic ash deposits that are millions of years old. Some of the largest and highest quality deposits of bentonite occur in the Great Plains area of the United States. Bentonite is made of microscopic rectangular clay platelets, that when properly hydrated in water form a porous honeycomb or house of cards structure with an enormous surface area.

Great Plains Bentonite has maximum activity through special selection and processing to ensure an enhanced surface area and optimum adsorption. Studies have shown that maximum binding and removal of toxins occurs only with the rare naturally occurring sodium ion form of bentonite containing a specific range of exchangeable sodium ions. Using advanced processing methods, the special bentonite used in Great Plains has a huge absorptive surface area over 8,100 square feet in one tablespoon serving. To put that in perspective, the total surface area to grab unwanted substances in one tablespoon serving is more than the floor surface area of four average size 2,000 square foot homes.

Great Plains Bentonite has maximum purity. There are many different grades of bentonite, primarily designed for industrial uses. Yerba Prima uses only food grade and USP/NF pharmaceutical grade bentonite that has been through a water-washing four-step purification process. This not only ensures that the bentonite is ultra-pure, but also contributes to the light color and strong activity of Great Plains Bentonite.

SUGGESTED USE: ADULTS AND CHILDREN OVER 12: Shake well before using. Take 1 tablespoonful mixed with 4 to 8 ounces of liquid once or twice a day. Drink additional fluid during the day. Bentonite can be taken on an empty stomach or with food. To help settle the stomach, bentonite can be taken after a meal.

Store at room temperature or in the refrigerator. Keep lid tightly closed to protect contents.

As with all bentonite supplements, do not take within 1 to 2 hours of prescription medications. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication or are under a doctors care, consult a health professional before use. In case of intestinal discomfort during use, reduce amount used or discontinue usage. Keep out of the reach of children.

Reliable Binder

This was the very first product I incorporated as part of the SHIELD program and it helped me immediately and drastically! I was experiencing major diarrhea and stomach upset att he time (it was constant day and night). I took 1tsp of bentonite clay in the evening and was able to sleep more easily through most of the night without major stomach upset and pain. I was amazed! As my symptoms shift, my ability to handle more or less bentonite shifts too - it can constipate me, so when I am leaning more towards that end of the spectrum I am careful... but what I love about this BC is how easy it is to titrate the dosage depending on what is going on. I recommend working up slowly. A great binder to have on deck when needed!

Amazing Binder

If I had to pick one, bentonite clay is one of my favorite supplements in the IBD shop. The binder really helps form loose stools, especially when taken with a fiber like psyllium husk. I make sure to have some on hand at all times!

Great binder

Great binder that helps to form my stool. I take mine with acacia fiber on an empty stomach before bed and that works really well.

DETOX

We like using this brand because of the purification process. It uses food and pharmaceutical-grade clay.

Helps keep things moving

I love taking this binder. I take mine in water but I know other people who will mix it with a fiber like acacia or psyllium husk powder. I can tell a difference on days I don't take it. Things just move better on the days that I do. It's adsorbent which means it physically attaches to toxins to pull them out, and is not absorbed by the body at all. It is a great product to have in your binder arsenal!
